To ensure that your IMPRESSA or ENA produces top-quality coffee and functions correctly, the machine should be cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. You should proceed as follows:
The cleaning programme for your IMPRESSA XS90 can be started at any time in either of two ways:
If SELECT PRODUCT / CLEAN MACHINE lights up in the display, press the Rinse key briefly until EMPTY TRAY / EMPTY GROUNDS is displayed.
If SELECT PRODUCT lights up in the display, open the cover on the left-hand side and hold the rotary switch down until an acoustic signal is heard and FILTER is displayed. Now turn the rotary switch until RINSE appears in the display. Press the rotary switch again until RINSE MACHINE lights up. Turn the rotary switch again until RINSE MACHINE is displayed. The cleaning programme is started by pressing the rotary switch.
To start the de-scaling programme, do not switch off the machine.
The de-scaling programme for your IMPRESSA XS90/95 can be started at any time in either of two ways:
If SELECT PRODUCT DE-SCALE MACHINE lights up in the display, press the Rinse key briefly until EMPTY TRAY / EMPTY GROUNDS is displayed.
If SELECT PRODUCT lights up in the display, open the cover on the left-hand side and hold the rotary switch down until an acoustic signal is heard and FILTER NO is displayed. Now turn the rotary switch until RINSE appears in the display. Press the rotary switch again until RINSE UNIT lights up. Turn the rotary switch again until DECALCIFIE UNIT is displayed. The programme is started by pressing the rotary switch.
If MACHINE DE-SCALING displayed for an extended period, the de-scaling programme was started with too much liquid or the water was replenished before the tank was empty.
If MACHINE DE-SCALING lights up even though the CLARIS filter cartridge has been inserted, the filter was not programmed.
The filter change programme for your IMPRESSA XS90 can be started at any time in either of two ways:
If SELECT PRODUCT / CHANGE FILTER lights up in the display, press the Rinse key briefly until INSERT FILTER / PRESS STEAM appears. Insert a new filter and then press the Steam key. Your IMPRESSA XS90 will now begin to rinse the filter.
If SELECT PRODUCT lights up in the display, open the cover on the left-hand side and hold the rotary switch down until an acoustic signal is heard and FILTER YES is displayed. Now turn the rotary switch until MAINTENANCE appears in the display. Press the rotary switch again until RINSE MACHINE lights up. Turn the rotary switch again until CHANGE FILTER is displayed. The programme is started by pressing the rotary switch.

Are you unhappy with the taste of the coffee? If the coffee tastes unpleasant, this could be due to any of the following reasons:

Is your coffee not hot enough? There are two common reasons why the coffee might not be hot enough:
If the milk does not go frothy, then the Professional Cappuccino Frother / Professional fine foam frother is blocked. Remove the frother and clean it thoroughly.
UNIT CALCED lights up although the CLARIS filter cartridge is in use.
UNIT DECALCIFYING appears for an extended period.
FILL SYSTEM / PRESS STEAM are displayed in turns.
COFFEE READY is displayed, but the coffee smells unpleasant.
If the Easy Cappuccino frother / fine foam frother is to fulfil your coffee dreams, it needs to be cleaned regularly.
If the Professional Cappuccino Frother / Professional fine foam frother is to fulfil your coffee dreams, it needs to be cleaned regularly.
Is it normal for water to run into the drip tray every time that coffee has been dispensed?
Yes, after each occasion on which coffee is dispensed, the residual water is conveyed into the drip tray via a special valve.
To ensure that your machine provides satisfaction for a long time and to avoid repairs, please note that the grinder on your JURA coffee machine is not suitable for coffee beans that have been treated with additives (e. g. sugar) during or after roasting.
Use of such coffee mixtures can result in damage to the grinder. Any repair costs incurred as a result are not covered by the warranty provisions.
